Book a survey

Ring the office and you will get Jim, Danny, or Sue who does the diary. Nobody here works on commission and nobody will push you into a survey you did not ask for.

Before you ring

What is worth knowing first

If water is actively coming in, say so when you ring and we will treat it differently. Active ingress jumps the queue ahead of planned work — we are not going to book you in for six weeks while your ceiling comes down. If you are in Sutton Coldfield or Mere Green there is a fair chance somebody looks at it the same day, because we are minutes away. Further out, we will give you a real day rather than a comfortable one.

If it is a survey for planned work, the honest lead time is six to eight weeks for most of the year. That is the price of doing our own work with five people rather than farming it out to a gang. If you need it faster than that, we would genuinely rather tell you now than string you along.

It helps if you can tell us the age of the house, roughly what the covering is, and whether you have been in the loft. Photos from the ground are useful. Photos from a drone are more useful. Do not go up there yourself to take them — that is genuinely what we are for, and every year somebody in this town comes off a ladder trying to save a call-out.

One last thing. If you are getting quotes, get three, and be suspicious of the cheapest and the fastest. Ask all three for their public liability certificate and whether they are subcontracting. The answers will tell you more than the number will.

Probably. Check your town.

Eight towns from one yard. If you are outside these and somebody closer would serve you better, we will tell you that on the phone.

We have worked out of Sutton Coldfield since 1996. Our yard is on Reddicap Trading Estate and most of our work is within four miles of it.

Boldmere is terraced and Edwardian, and terraced roofs are their own trade. Shared stacks, shared valleys, no scaffold room out the back.

Wylde Green is interwar semis, and interwar semis nearly all fail in the same three places. We have been fixing those three places for thirty years.

Four Oaks has the biggest and most complicated roofs we work on, and the tightest rules about what you are allowed to put back.

Mere Green is our nearest neighbourhood and the most mixed. Ninety-year-old semis on one road, ten-year-old builds on the next.

Walmley is post-war estate housing, which means concrete tile, shallow pitches, and a lot of flat roofs quietly reaching the end of their lives.

Tamworth is two towns on one map: an old market core, and the overspill estates that were thrown up around it fast.

Lichfield is a cathedral city with the paperwork to match. Half our work here starts with a conversation about what we are allowed to put back.
